URSCHREI was founded in 2007 in Berg, Germany by Felix Wolfrum (Vocals, Guitar), Andreas Scholze (Drums), and Philipp Scholze (Bass). Initially influenced by the rising pagan wave, they quickly recorded their first demo „HEIDENZORN“ in their local rehearsal room. Limited to 500 copies, the demo sold out swiftly.

In mid-2009, the band split due to various musical differences. Felix reformed URSCHREI as a solo project a few months later, beginning work on their debut album. Michael Eibisch (Drums) joined in 2011, and together they recorded the first full-length album „DEKADENZ“ at TRITONE STUDIOS in Hof, Germany, in May 2012. Released on September 20, 2013, the album was limited to 1000 copies, showcasing themes of post-apocalyptic and nature connections.

Marvin Arneth (Guitar) joined shortly after, adding more power to their sound. Unfortunately, Michael left the band in 2014 due to time constraints, leading to several lineup changes until 2018.

In early 2018, Florian Lübbe began playing drums for the band. In 2019, Michael Zenkel joined as the new rhythm guitarist.

Currently, URSCHREI is working on their second album and aims to increase their live performances in 2024.
